Sri Pushpagiri Mutt has started “Sri Pusphagiri Goushale” at Chilkur Sri Mutt, Chilkur Post, Belur Tq., Hassan Dist. To propagate and promote love for the cow and its virtues. To make cow protection a people’s movement. To work for the protection and conservation of cows. To campaign against the cruelty to cows and their progeny. Apart from this, the Goushale also rescues the animals meant for illegal and merciless slaughtering, after being transported in cattle lorries under extremely cruel conditions with no food and water for days, standing huddled together, stamped to unconsciousness or death, made to walk for miles with starvation.
