Sree Kshethra Pushpagiri

Sri Pushpagiri Mahasamstana Math is one of the Religious institutions being run by the young, dynamic and scholarly Veerashaiva Pontiff Sri Sri Sri Somashekara Shivacharya Mahaswamiji. This Math has a very ancient and long history of over one thousand years. The Math is involved in multi-dimensional activities to serve the people of this region in general and specifically the local poverty-ridden poor people irrespective of caste, creed, gender, culture, or tradition.  Thus Math is very well known for its Secularistic approach and service.   

The location of the Math is on a very splendid hillock called the Pushpagiri Hills.  The history of these hills goes back 900 years to the regime of the then Hoysala Kingdom ruling the Southern Part of Karnataka.  This Kingdom was responsible for the prosperous and glorious development of Karnataka. 

• To establish Ashrams, educational institutions and social service centers to render the service throughout the world.
• To establish hostels for the deserving boys and girls, to facilitate education and finding a way of life.
• To perform works of charities for the poor people and downtrodden.
• To assist various institutions working in the country for the upliftment of the poor and handicapped children.
• To assist any institution to serve the aim to awaken a sense of love and responsibility in our fellow men towards the suffering and destitute children and the juvenile in any part of the country thereby, to ease their distress.
• To open, establish, run and continue a research institute in science, agriculture, commerce, technology and philosophy.
• To open, run and maintain free boarding hostels for students and to infuse in them a seal for healthy and standard education.
• To encourage and grant scholarships to deserving students.
• To assist any institution formed for charitable purposes, which are recognized under section 80G of the income tax act, 1961.
• To do and cause to be done all such lawful things as are in accordance with the spirit and Principles of the objects of the trust or which are conducive to the attainment and pursuit of the aims and objects of the Trust.
• To establish, maintain, develop and donate to the establishment, maintenance and development of Books, Banks and Libraries.
• To open, establish and run schools, and colleges and establish universities for the benefit of the people.
